"Does a Banana Peel Really Help to Whiten Teeth?"

So today I decided to try something very different. I have been reading about a lot of natural remedies online and decided that today would be the day that I actually go ahead and try one. Since I am obsessed with nice teeth, I wanted to see, "If Banana peels really help to whiten teeth?" I've gone to dentists before to have my teeth whitened, which can be a pricey expense, so I figured this would be a great inexpensive remedy to try. I mean how could it hurt, right? Usually after I get my teeth whitened at the dentist, I have white spots on my teeth due to decalcification, lack of calcium (I hated to drink milk as a kid!). Therefore, I try not to whiten my teeth too often because then for about a week I have white spots all over my teeth, which isn't cute! So after eating a banana for breakfast, I figured I might as well use the peel to try this out.

So I went ahead and rubbed the inside of the banana peel all over both top and bottom of my teeth. I did this for a few minutes (2 minutes should suffice but I did it for about 4).  Of course, my teeth felt pretty gritty after this. Then I rinsed my mouth and my teeth actually did look slightly whiter and shinier. And the best part was that I didn't have those white spots that I normally get from the teeth whitening products.

The science behind this is that a banana peel contains minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and manganese that absorb into teeth and help whiten them. Go figure something so simple could actually work! I'm definitely going to try this more often. It is said that if you do this twice a day you will see major results! Let's see what happens!!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a before and after photo but I will be sure to do that next time I try something new. Hope this helps!

By the way I had my brother try this as well and here were his results after just one try...

If you notice there is slight color difference. So only imagine how it will be if you do it consistently!
